Introduction
Since its foundation in the year 1971, Baliarda has been closely committed to science, technology and man’s capacity for innovation. Through its existence, it has faced the challenge of growing with a fighting and persevering spirit, believing that the future offers important possibilities when relying on both a highly trained human team and a powerful image in the Argentine Pharmaceutical Industry.
When starting its activities, the society devoted all of its efforts to the development of the pharmaceutical specialties, through which the company would be launched into the market and would become known by the argentine physicians. After being authorized by the Ministry of Health, the first products were launched into the pharmaceutical market under a strict supervision from the Quality Control Department. Thus, Baliarda S.A. started its commercial activities.
During more than 40 years, by means of carefully thought and put-into-practice projects and the permanent work of all of its members, always maintaining the same unchanging principles, Baliarda S.A. has reached to occupy more than 14500 m2 of covered surface.
From its beginnings Baliarda has privileged the recruitment of highly qualified personnel, relying on an important proportion of technicians as well as professionals in its staff of more than 500 people.

Sales Department
The Promotion and Sales staff is made up of more than 180 people, who are provided with constant training. The sales team currently covers all the country, big cities and small towns through frequent rounds. Coverage has always been a challenge for the company. Thus, sales personnel are hired every year in order to achieve this goal. The Sales Administration Department controls visits in a computerized way, registering more than 50000 monthly visited doctors, and achieving a permanent communication with the medical staff.
The evolution of the sales in units and values shows Baliarda´s striking growth during the last years.
This evolution has been reached by means of the development as well as positioning in the market of formulas based on monodrugs and associations that have always had a strong scientific support and have represented innovations in the Argentine pharmaceutical market.
Medical Department
The Medical Department is staffed by doctors, biologists, chemists and pharmacists with outstanding experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry. Development of formulas of acknowledged pharmacological effects as well as the sanitary registration of new products are carried out within the department. Moreover, clinical trials are designed and controlled and the necessary scientific material for the Research and Development is selected.
The Medical Department is provided with an important periodicals library of indexed publications, considered as a valuable source of scientific information. Similarly, the professionals of the Medical Department usually attend both national and international scientific meetings and organize acknowledged scientific courses and lectures with local and foreign visitors.
The training task of our sales team is performed by the Medical Department, which is informed and periodically updated on the medical reality as well as on the scientific advances.
Marketing Department
The Marketing Department interacts with all the other sectors by planning and executing the marketing actions.
It plans the promotional periods always interacting with the Medical Department when designing promotional material and selecting scientific literature for the design of medical brochures. Within the medical communication the scientific rigor as well as both national and international information on medical bibliography are privileged.
It establishes programs of fidelity with doctors and patients. It is responsible for creating and maintaining a communicative contact with the sales staff in order to be aware of the market needs.
It carries out market analyses and audit assessments, which provide the necessary information to know the positioning of the products throughout the country.
Development and Manufacturing Department
Professionals, technicians as well as operators from the Development as well as the Product Manufacturing Department are highly trained with Good Manufacturing Practice rules (GMP). The manufacturing equipment, which is constantly updated, is the same level as in the most developed countries.
Different pharmacotechnical processes are entirely developed in Baliarda´s Manufacturing Plant. Thus, turbulent flow micronizations, direct compressions, vacuum manufacturing of hormonal gels, vaginal ovules in peel–off opening containers and granule pharmaceutical formulas mark a differentiation in the finished products.
Baliarda S.A. has always relied on a strict Quality Control of products, with the conviction that quality exists when all company sectors interact, and believing that only with a high scientific and technological level the company´s prestige among the physicians can be maintained.
Baliarda S.A. has always been concerned for the environment. Thus, there is a service of external consultancy which provides us with updated information for the permanent compliance with the new sanitary regulations, guaranteeing the personnel, the community and the environment the maximum level of safety and hygiene from an ecological point of view.
Packaging and Expedition Department
The Packaging Department is committed to the elaboration of sales units, using a strict procedure in order to achieve the most adequate logistics in the Expedition of all the products in Baliarda.
Administration Department
The Administration Department is staffed by a dynamic team focused on the global vision of the company aimed at administrating as well as improving each section’s actions.
Human Resources Department
The Human Resources Department assists all the staff, providing constant consultancy and generating the necessary bonds for the correct management of each section.
